The aim of the Xanana Vocational Education Trust is to help the young people of East Timor acquire the basic skills necessary to work productively. The Trust wishes to do this within the framework of helping the Timorese build a self sustaining vocational education system which meets the needs of all the people.
|
Using the skills and experience of leading Australians vocational training experts such as Professor David Beanland AO, Ian Predl AM, Kay Schofield, Neil Black and Luke McNamara, supported by the Governments of Victoria, NSW and the Commonwealth, the Trust works with the Government of East Timor and individual training institutions to assist them to develop training that:
• Leads to productive job outcomes
• Has outcomes that are sustained
• Works within East Timorese Government plans and priorities
• Fully involves East Timorese in all aspects
• Is accountable and transparent in operation
• Is cost effective and measurable
• Is done incrementally and is reviewed.
