AdoptASchool Association Inc is an incorporated, not-for-profit entity which is run by a management committee and many volunteers.

As a sister school association between WA and Bali, we work directly with school communities to increase cultural understanding and personalize contacts. It is our aim to foster friendship between our two countries and to lessen “the fear factor” which is so prevalent today. At a school level, each school has a coordinator who liaises with their sister school and determines their own level of commitment. Activities include penpals, fundraising, donation of educational resources, hosting visitors from WA and Bali, establishing a computer lab, funding English lessons and sewing and woodcarving lessons. Plus much, much more!!

Bureaucracy is minimal with aid being delivered straight to the partner school in Bali. In the past the money has been spent on such projects as upgrading toilets, partitioning a classroom to create a library, building a boundary wall, paying for an itinerant English language teacher, supplying freshwater to villages in Pegadungan and Alasangker, paying for woodwork tools, buying a sewing machine, paying for a course in batik making for students, individual sponsorship of needy students……….

We welcome visits to any of our sister schools in Bali. This has many benefits for all. It builds bridges to improve our understanding, it gives the Balinese an opportunity to showcase their good work at school and it ensures that your donation is being used as it was intended. Visits are arranged by contacting the Chairperson.
