Kingbilli Wildlife Rescue is a busy, 24-hour centre specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.
|
Kingbilli Wildlife Rescue operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, covering 3,889km2 of Victoria’s Central Highlands, in addition to providing specialised treatment to difficult, high-risk cases from around the State. We rescue anything, anywhere, anytime, and all successfully rehabilitated animals are released back in the wild.

Caring for dozens of animals and travelling thousands of kilometres each year, we incur substantial expenses. Although licensed and supervised by the Victorian Government, we receive no funding. We rely on donations to purchase food, medication, rescue equipment and to build and maintain our facilities. We need your help. All donors receive our exclusive bimonthly e-newsletter to ensure they see exactly how their money is spent, and are kept up-to-date with the progress of our wild patients.

In Victoria alone, 25,000 native animals are injured or orphaned each year as result of human activity. These little Australians deserve a second chance, and that’s why we’re here. At Kingbilli Wildlife Rescue, we are committed to giving all manner of wildlife the care needed to get them back on track. Our 300 acre property is a registered refuge and linked via corridors to thousands of acres of forested wilderness. This provides ideal habitat for rehabilitated animals to be released, where they receive ongoing monitoring to ensure they are enjoying the lives they evolved to lead.
As Christmas approaches, the fire season will soon be upon us. Whilst many animals are injured and killed in wildfires, many more flee the smell of smoke, migrating into open country where they are at great risk from the impacts of human civilisation - cars, fences, dogs, shooters and more. If the drought returns this Summer, these animals will travel further and further seeking sufficient food, and a high percentage will find themselves in trouble. Help us help them.
