Life is never easy for children who are left orphaned; they must learn to survive at any expense. As the number of people dying from AIDS and other diseases in Kenya continues to rise, so too does the number of children left orphaned.
On September 11th 2004, we completed building and opened the WYI Owiti Children's Home. Situated in Nyamasaria, Kenya the home has become a place where orphan children are given a second chance in life. Education is provided for all the children at the Nyamasaria Primary School as well as their spiritual upbringing in the local community church.
World Youth International has also built and funds the WYI Sapana Dreaming Children’s Home in Nepal. Completed in 2001, the centre is now home to 25 children. As with our home in Kenya, these children have been taken in off the streets into a loving and caring environment.
Our motto for our school and home is: “ Ignite the Heart and Mind”

All donations go to supporting the many orphan children we work with overseas. It is used for the development of the children through education, and covers their general well being including food, clothing, health-care, upkeep on the building and the staff's wages.
Donations are tax deductible.

Robert Hoey founded WYI in 1988 at the age of 21. He was a young man with a huge vision who established the organisation in many countries around the world. Unfortunately in 1996 at the age of 28, Robert passed away but his vision continues through the work of his family, friends and supporters throughout the world.
In 1999, WYI built the first Australian school in Nepal in memory of Robert. Over 350 children are now in attendance with 220 sponsored by people within Australia. Our reward for this achievement was an even bigger project, the building of the WYI Sapana Dreaming Children's Home in Nepal for orphaned children.
The ‘Hoey Foundation’ has now been established under the WYI Gift Fund to assist our organization in fulfilling Robert Hoey’s vision.
September 2006: Robert's father Ralph Hoey has recently been awarded The Order of Australia for his WYI work.
