Tabitha Foundation Australia supports the work of Tabitha Cambodia, an NGO that works side-by-side with the poorest people in Cambodia. Since its inception in 1994, Tabitha Cambodia has dramatically improved the lives of over 500,000 Cambodians. Tabitha is currently working with 10,657 families that have 82,256 dependents.

Tabitha Foundation Australia raises funds from:
- Individual donations (online via our website, or post us a cheque)
- School partnerships (several schools have adopted Tabitha as their community program)
- Building teams (Australian volunteers travel to Cambodia several times a year taking funds they have raised. They work alongside Cambodian tradesmen to build simple but adequate houses. In 2003-03 year we constructed 19 houses)
- Corporate sponsorship (we are looking for companies who would be willing to donate or sponsor us)
|
Tabitha Foundation Australia has no administrative cost enabling 100% of donations to be sent to Tabitha-Cambodia.
Tabitha-Cambodia has three main activities:
- Community Development (by encouraging savings, Tabitha brings families out of total destitution)
- Cottage Industry (products are marketed around the world and provide an income, especially for single mothers)
- House-building Programs (assist families who would not otherwise have been able to afford even a one-room house)
|
Donations are tax-deducible. Tabitha Foundation's medium-term goal is to fully fund the Tabitha-Cambodia operations in the southern province of Kompong Som. In 2002-03 we raised $39,000. To meet our goal, we will need to raise $50-60,000 in 2003-04.
