The Lotus Children's Centre is located in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
|
Didi Anandakalika founded the Lotus Centre in 1995 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The centre provides a home to 143 orphaned, abandoned and abused children who range in age from 3 months to 21 years old. The Lotus Centre is located in a ger district, just outside the city, and many of the children live in traditional Mongolian gers. Our goals at Lotus are to firstly provide primary care, such as food and shelter, and secondly developmental care, such as counseling for children affected by abuse.

We are a small, 100% child based operation and therefore do not have a fundraising department or other means by which your money becomes absorbed into the system. All donations go directly towards the running costs and needs of the centre such as food, coal in winter and teachers/workers wages. We have a thank-you system in place, which responds to your donation telling you how your money has been used.
|
2004 The Lotus Centre recently opened its new school, which provides classes for kindergarten to grade two aged children. Having undergone extensive renovations, thanks to the kind donations of many, we have been able to provide a warm and friendly learning environment for these children.
We are also in the process of renovating the yards in which the children live. With the harsh winter nearing, construction is coming to an end and the improvements have been made to improve safety and the standard of care that the children receive.

The Lotus centre heavily relies upon the generosity of others to continue its work helping disadvantaged children here in Mongolia. You can contribute to the centre by visiting our website and donating online. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated by all the staff, volunteers and 143 children here at the Lotus centre.
