Akany Avoko started as a refuge for abandoned, orphaned, impoverished and destitute children and also young girls awaiting trial to prove their innocence against allegations of petty crime. We offer food, shelter, care and the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge to all of those in need.

POINTS OF INTEREST

We never turn away anyone in need of help. Many people come to us damaged and helpless. We see the potential in everyone; together we help each other to overcome our hardships to live happier and more fulfilling lives.
Our halfway home helps young adults to prosper in life after Akany Avoko. We encourage self sufficiency and the taking on of greater responsibility. We hope the vocational skills learned here will help our people to a stronger start and that the knowledge they take with them will benefit the wider community.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Madagascar’s unique environment is facing ruin because the country is one of the 10 poorest in the world. We believe that beating poverty and conserving the environment need not be incompatible. We are developing sustainable initiatives to improve our standard of living. By sharing these ideas and demonstrating the benefits to the wider community, we hope to help save our environment.
